Us vs The World
"Love is temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part."
― Louis de Bernières, Captain Corelli's Mandolin
I'm getting married in a month. A MONTH! As in 4 weeks! 30 days!
It still hasn't fully hit me yet, but I am looking forward to this new chapter of my life with excitement. We get to do something that we haven't done before and build new traditions, celebrations and weird family habits (we will have a lot of them). We have an opportunity to build a strong marriage with God as our foundation and to merge lives that were once lived separately as one unit. We know we are not perfect, that we will more than likely get on each others nerves, but we go into this with wide eyes and excitement to build our lives together.
Chris calls me his "person", which I thought was the funniest thing I ever heard before; but now I see what he means. He is my "person", my "one", the person that I will connect to, commit to, grow with and grow old with. Once the glamour of our (wedding) day is over with, we have the best part: living the rest of our lives together being weird and in love with life and each other.
That's the part I look forward to: the days, months and years after the wedding day. I look forward to my life with my person.
